Abstract Submission Guidelines:

Abstracts (2 pages max. including figures and references) are to be submitted online. Originality, relevance, completeness, and clarity of the research are expected. For preparing the abstract, authors should use either the MS Word or the LaTex template provided below and generate a PDF file to upload (2MB max.). Abstracts not compliant with the guideline will be sent back to the authors. Authors should ensure that all equations / formulas / special characters are displayed correctly in the final pdf version. Abstracts that have not been passed through a spell- and grammatical-check will be returned to the authors. A confirmation e-mail will be sent upon successful submission.

Mini Symposium Information

The committee of ParCFD 2018 organizes the following four mini-symposiums. The titles and short descriptions are provided below. Authors are welcome to submit their abstracts to the mini-symposiums if relevant.

Industrial CFD

Parallel CFD (ParCFD) is an annual international conference devoted to the discussion of recent developments in parallel computing and its applications to the field of CFD and related disciplines. The Industrial Symposium is a session of invited researchers from Industry for presentations on advanced CFD modelling and simulation taking place in Industry, including the development of algorithms, models, that take advantage of high performance computing. These presentations will describe current state of the art in industrial computing.

Extreme Scale of CFD

This symposium may address the current status and development of approaches, algorithms and frameworks that enable extreme-scale Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations on emerging computational platforms. More specifically, issues addressed may include code refactoring, novel algorithms leveraging machine topology and speed/bandwidth of memory and communications, exploitation of many-core and accelerator technologies with a high probability of incorporation into exa-scale platforms, generating/storing/decomposing/manipulating/visualizing/analyzing very large discrete meshes and datasets, and mitigation of I/O bottlenecks.

Multiscale and Multiphysics in Nanotechnology

The Multiscale and Multiphysics in Nanotechnology symposium shall promote global opportunities in business and sectors for educational research pertaining to the field of Nanotechnology. The scope of this symposium shall cover multiple simultaneous physical phenomena and the merger of different domains such as heat transfer with CFD, molecular dynamics, and atomistic analysis. These potential applications are not only limited to MEMS and NEMS devices but open up a new horizon for innovation and technology for nano-scaled thinking.

Parallel CFD on Biomedical Flow

A myriad of biological systems and biomedical processes take the mechanics of fluids into their advantage in order to fulfill their functions. The primary goal of this session is to bring together engineers, mathematicians, and physicists to discuss recent computational studies related to biological and biomedical fluid mechanics. This session focuses on melding recent developments in high-performance computing of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids that are relevant to biological fluids, and microfluids used in biomimetic applications and biomedical devices. We invite you to submit your latest work to our minisymposiumon topics including but not limited to the followings: blood flow, respiratory airflow,hydrodynamic separation of cells, active matter, motile microorganisms and/or hydrodynamic phenomena in drug-delivery systems.
